Abstract

This study examines the complexity of weather's influence on crescent visibility in the context of astronomy, with a focus on integrating modern scientific methodologies and Islamic astronomical traditions. A thorough study was conducted to explore how meteorological factors such as humidity, temperature, atmospheric transparency, and cloud conditions interact with the crescent moon observation process at each Hijri month transition. Using a mixed research method that combines quantitative and qualitative approaches, this article examines the correlation between weather variables and the likelihood of crescent moon visibility. The research was conducted through a series of field observations, meteorological data analysis, and comparative studies of various methods for determining the beginning of the month in the tradition of Islamic astronomy. Research instruments included precision weather measurement devices, astronomical telescopes, and systematic documentation methods. The results of the research indicate that weather conditions have a significant influence on the visibility of the crescent moon, with complex variations that require a multidisciplinary approach. This article offers a new methodological framework that integrates astronomical traditions with contemporary scientific methodologies, providing theoretical and practical contributions to understanding the dynamics of determining the start of the Hijri month in the modern era.
